The meaning

What the name means Da Chu is a great store: of virtue, of learning, of strength.

The picture Heaven within a mountain: something so large kept inside, thickly stored.

The sense of the whole The whole hexagram is about building up. There is great strength, but you do not use it yet; learn from the old and from experience and grow thick enough. The more you have stored, the steadier you are when you use it.

In plain words: what this hexagram says

Store up your skill and your character and let them grow slowly. Good for study and gathering, not for chasing what is in front of you.

The upper trigram is Mountain and the lower is Heaven: Mountain above, Heaven below. When you read it, first picture the two together as a scene, then set it against the original below. The plain words speak only of stance and do not foretell.
