People in Yunnan Who Eat Jianshouqing Say They Saw a Group of Little People Dancing

In Yunnan's rainy season, it's mushroom season. Among mushrooms, there's one called "Jianshouqing"—because when cut or touched by hand, the flesh slowly turns blue, hence the name "Jianshouqing" (blue on sight/touch).
Stir-fried until cooked, it's very fragrant, and locals treasure it. But every year around this time, some people say that after eating it, they saw things they shouldn't have seen.
The most famous claim is called "Lilliput". The eater lies in bed or sits at a table, and suddenly sees the whole room full of one-inch-tall little people, wearing colorful clothes, walking in line, dancing, singing. Some say the little people are very lively, and others try to reach out and grab them, grabbing nothing but air.
After waking up, people say those little people looked more real than real, with even the patterns on their clothes clearly visible.
Doctors' explanation is more direct: Jianshouqing, if not stir-fried thoroughly, causes poisoning—dizziness, nausea, stomachache—and some people experience hallucinations. Locals know this too, so they stir-fry it for enough time, making sure it's fully cooked before eating.
If someone feels dizzy after eating mushrooms, or sees strange things before their eyes, don't take it as an interesting story—go to the hospital right away.
