很多人在鬼压床的时候都看到了同一个戴礼帽的人

During sleep paralysis, your eyes are open but your body won't move, and many people see a dark figure standing by the bed. Different people describe the shadow in surprisingly similar ways.

One especially common one is called online the "Hat Man": a pitch-black shadow, very tall, wearing a wide-brimmed hat—some say a fedora, some say a cowboy hat. He doesn't speak, doesn't touch you, just stands there watching you. Some say that when they see him, the wall behind the figure at the bedside is transparent, and they can see the clock hanging on the wall.

Some say they've encountered him in different countries, without having communicated with each other, yet their descriptions are nearly identical. Some take this as evidence that he truly exists, and others have drawn him, the drawings look very similar, and posted them online, where comments say: I've seen him too, it's him.

Sleep medicine explains it like this: sleep paralysis is when you're stuck between asleep and awake, your body is still paralyzed in sleep mode, but your brain is already awake, and at that point the brain conjures things up on its own—the most common being the feeling that "someone is in the room." As for why it's a shadow, why a hat, some say it's because the human brain sees a "faceless human shape" and fills it in that way; others say a hat is the easiest outline to make out in the dark.

If you encounter it, don't panic first—try wiggling your fingers and eyelids, and it usually passes in a minute or two. After it passes, he's gone, and everything in the room is normal. But many people say the look of that figure, they can remember for a lifetime; as soon as they close their eyes, he's still there.
