2004年,美军战斗机在海上追着一个“药片”

In November 2004, off the coast of California, a carrier strike group centered on the USS Nimitz was conducting exercises at sea. The ship's radar had been detecting unidentified targets for several consecutive days, descending from an altitude of over twenty thousand meters to near the sea surface within seconds, then hovering.

On November 14, a fighter squadron commander named David Fravor, accompanied by another aircraft, went to investigate. He said there was a patch of white foam on the sea surface, as if something were underwater. Hovering above the foam was a white oval object, about ten meters long, like a "pill," with no wings, no exhaust, and no visible propulsion system.

He flew down to take a look, but the object suddenly changed direction and flew away within seconds, at a speed he had never seen before. Later, the ship's radar located it again a hundred kilometers away.

Another aircraft used an infrared camera to record a video of the object moving rapidly.

In 2017, the video was released, and later the U.S. Department of Defense acknowledged its authenticity, established a dedicated agency to study it, and submitted reports to Congress every year.

To this day, the official stance is: unable to confirm. Some say it was a drone, some say it was an instrument error, and some say it was an alien spacecraft. After retiring, Fravor recounted the story in many interviews, saying he did not know what it was, only that it was not any aircraft he had ever seen.
