Someone called and said they would give you 8,000 a month to install cameras in your home

Late at night on September 28, 2014, someone posted on Tianya with a title roughly meaning: I might have encountered a pervert, is this a prank? The poster was a woman renting a place alone.
She said she received a call from a hidden number that day, and the caller claimed to be doing research, asking if she was willing to let them install cameras in her home—everywhere except the bathroom and toilet—for 8,000 yuan a month. They said they wanted to see what ordinary people's real lives were like.
She said her intuition told her it was a scam, but she was also tempted. Since graduating, she had only been earning a little over 1,000 yuan a month, and 8,000 was not a small amount to her. The replies to the post were almost unanimous in advising her not to agree: some said it was covert filming for profit, some said they would break in and steal while she was away, and others said something even more terrifying—that they wanted her organs. One person suggested she let them install the cameras, then rent a cheap place for 1,000 yuan outside to live in, netting 7,000 yuan a month.
On October 5, they called again, and she agreed. The other party said the project was called "Ordinary Life," had no registered company, "we are a group doing social research," and said she wasn't the only one cooperating.
On October 8, she posted saying it was installed. The person who came was a woman in her forties dressed like a rich person, followed by three men in security company uniforms. She was given the first month's 8,000 yuan on the spot, with a one-year contract. She said if she completed it, she would have 100,000 yuan and wanted to open a flower shop.
After that, she logged in every now and then to report that she was safe. Once she spent her own money to change the security door, and the landlord was unhappy, saying it broke the feng shui and demanded higher rent.
On November 1, she said: Just reporting that I'm safe, I've changed to a new job and am in training, very busy every day, I'll come back to explain in detail when I have time.
That was the last post. Her ID never logged in again.
